Things That Make Me Go HMMMMMMM

Just things that render me reflective and introspective and to stretch my writing muscles.

Michael Strahan and wife

I live in the Phoenix area and I've found that persons of my hue are often ignored in the presence of those who are lighter. I don't have an African-American girlfriend out here...all of my friends are caucasion and they are all awesome ladies, however, when I go out with them, I tend to be ignored by men who share my skin color. I've been told, several times by many people, that I am attractive, but I don't feel attractive at all because whenever I go somewhere with my friends I get completely ignored. It's really weird, it seems that in the dim light, if they can't see you then you don't exist.

It brings me to my reasoning behind this blog. It seems that a lot of prominent Black men tend to date and marry women any color but their own. I'm not sure what the reason is because there are plenty of beautiful Sisters in this world. They claim that we are 'gold-diggers' and that we are just out to get their money. I'm not sure if this is true or not, I'm sure there are some who do this, but what the hell do they think women who are not Black are after. Michal Strahan married some old looking cosmetics counter chick...I mean, did he really think she wasn't going to get some of that cash? I mean all of the articles call her a 'blond beauty', please...she looks old and makeup can only hide so much, and vindictive, claiming that he's gay because he dropped her like a hot potato, obviously not thinking of the effect an accusation like that could have on her children. Pitiful...it appears that a lot of the crap she's bringing up now she knew about before they got married. If she was so worried about her safety and him looking at her sister undress, why did she go through with the marriage in the first place? I'll tell you why, COLD, HARD, CASH!!!

So all you guys with a little bit of money looking past intelligent, beautiful sisters because we're just not light enough, think again before you marry someone who is not like you...they're out for money, just like you think we are.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hatin' on the ladies with lighter skin. Someof these women are good friends of mine, but I don't appreciate being overlooked because of my milk chocolate colored skin.
